Frequently Asked Questions

I bought a special finish for my car and the dealer advised me to not wax my car.  It is safe to use Let It Shine Car Wash because of this?  It sure is.  All of the products we use are designed to work with modern vehicle paints and finishes. 

I have a large pickup or van, will it fit in the automatic bay?  Our automatic bay will accommodate vehicles up to 7 feet tall (84”).  The length of trucks with crew and extended (4 door) cabs will easily fit in our automatic bay even with an 8 ft. bed.  Height can be a concern for large passenger and cargo vans depending upon the suspension and tire size.  Sometimes we just have to watch to make sure it will fit.  Generally, any stock factory pickup truck or van will fit. 

Do I need to fold the mirrors in on my vehicle before using the automatic bay? If you have wide trailer/towing mirrors it is usually best to fold them in.  However, this is not generally needed for standard mirrors.  The normal action of the soft touch wash might move the mirrors in and out as the car wash machine passes forward and backward past your vehicle.  If your mirrors do not move freely then you should fold them in. 

My vehicle has a ladder rack, is it o.k. to wash it in the automatic bay? Sorry, but no.  Items such as ladder, bicycle, wheelchair and scooter racks are not suitable for washing in the automatic bay because of the soft touch cloth. While the height might not be a problem, the attachments cause damage to our equipment and may result in damage to your vehicle. 

My car is covered in dead bugs, any advice on getting them off?  Of the common things that get on vehicles, bugs are about the hardest to remove easily.  But with most things, rehydrating the bug guts will make the process easier.  In the self serve bay, use the Presoak option and apply the presoak liberally to the bugs.  It is best to let it stand for a few minutes then spray them with the high pressure soap holding the nozzle as close to the surface of the vehicle as possible.
